The Barcelona centre de Disseny (BcD) presented us with the challenge of creating the identity and communication campaign for the Barcelona Design Week 18th edition with a value proposition based on adding a new sustainable development goal to the set of global goals (SDGs) already defined by the United Nations. The idea of this goal 18 was to promote a more human and humanistic future through the tools, practices and culture of design in companies, associations and individuals with the aim of generating a positive global impact for everyone.
Due to that, for this visual identity we were looking for an iconic, transgressive and dynamic representation of the number 18, to link the number of the this edition to the proposed new sustainable development goal, but at the same time with a certain organic essence with the idea of evoking the most human part of the edition.
The process by which we achieved these results was carried out with different generative language tools (not artificial intelligence), through which we also managed to provide this technological connotation.
The result is a large number of artworks based on the 18th and with different treatments that communicate this balance between technology and humanism in a very visual, iconic and recognisable way.
